This is your doorway to learning more about Holistic Belly Dance
Holistic Belly Dance Craft is a method that sees the woman as body, mind and soul. Women join our classes for different reasons but they have one thing in common, they have an inner calling to reconnect with themselves through dance and sisterhood. Sara is a trained Women's health coach and Yoga teacher and trainer. She brings her wealth knowledge of the body into class. You learn how to breath and mining anxiety, you learn about a healthy pelvic floor and so on. This is more than just learning how to belly dance, you learn how to dance and be healthy too.
Our method works on body awareness, technique, musical understanding, fun dynamics, sisterhood connection and self love practices.
This method is broken down into modules, starting with Elegant arms, Hypnotising hips, Charming core, Belly Nibbles, Sassy Shimmy, Expressive travelling steps, Enchanting turns, Fun combos, Magical veils, Sacred Goddess Dance, Earthy cane, Energising sagas, Flowing fun veil, Glowing wings and so on.
We divide our modules into Fundamentals, Next level, Artistry course and StageCraft.
This isn't a very easy answer to reply because everyone is different. Some people falls in love with belly dancing and is happy to devote hours studying it in class and with our online courses.
Our best piece of advice is to that the first two years are the fundamental level, then we flow with that. Get started first, connect with the material and with us, have fun and enjoy the journey.
Wear comfortable clothes as if you were going for a walk, to a pilates class or to the gym. Our academy sells *Belly Dance tops* if you like to wear something that represents belly dancing.
We provide hip scarves ad we sell them too if you wish to have your own.
Bring a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated and please avoid eating too close to class.
Sometimes we ask students to bring a yoga mat for our stretches and movement practice.
Nobody is asked to show parts of the body in class, unless a student feels like wearing cropped top. but you don't have too. With regards to performing, students are invited to showcase at our organised events but nobody has to. It is a personal choice and we support our students decisions.
I am qualified to teach Arabic dance adults, teens and to children. I am also a trained Waldorf Teacher and have been running yoga, dance, mindfulness and other sessions for kids and adults for many years now.
My classes and workshops are open to anyone age 16* or if younger with an adult together. I also teach pregnant women to belly dance as a birth preparation. And the age group always vary from early 20's to 60's and so on. Age and body shape isn't important in belly dance but your willingness to practice, to dedicate to learn a new skills is a very important factor.
